Along the beach and all the way to the village’s church square is a large green area, La Piñada and Parque Reina Sofía, that consists mainly of pine trees, eucalyptus, palms and aloe vera plants. The pine trees in particular reduce erosion, and the forest was planted in the 1920s to prevent the sand from penetrating the village centre. Along the promenade, there is a large selection of restaurants, bars and shops. The local market is held every Wednesday.
